Adult Literacy Material

This collection contains a variety of book and audio material designed for those learning English as a second language, and anyone wanting to improve their literacy skills. There is also a collection of ‘short’ novels which can be used in conjunction with this material.

Audio Books

A popular collection of books on both cassette and compact disc with new titles being added regularly. The issue period is for 4 weeks with a charge of $2.50.

CD-ROMS/Playstation 2

Includes the popular game titles as well as educational and informative resources. The issue period is for 1 week at a charge of $2.50.

DVDs

A new collection expanding very quickly every day! Includes informative material as well as popular new and old movie titles for relaxation and entertainment. The issue period is for 1 week at a charge of $2.50 per item.

Fiction

The fiction is arranged by genre, including general, historical, saga, suspense, western, war, romance, fantasy and science fiction.

Graphic Novels & Comics

We have a wide range of Graphic novel's available for loan. The issue period is 4 weeks.
Comics are also available in Childrens Services. These are not for issue.

Hot Picks

A selection of the popular reads of the moment including both fiction and non-fiction titles. The issue period is for 1 week with a charge of $2.50. Other copies of these titles are available on reserve.

Large Print Collection

A selection of fiction and non-fiction titles is available for those members who prefer to read a larger print, with new titles added regularly.

Magazines

This is a popular collection with the issue period of 2 weeks and a charge of 50c per item. Arranged into two categories, the less recent magazines are gradually added to the free collection.

Music CDs

An eclectic collection including popular, classical, jazz and country etc... The issue period is for 4 weeks at a charge of $1.00 per item.

Non-Fiction

Non-Fiction ie true stories, travel, history etc... is arranged by Dewey Decimal Classification with Biographies at the beginning followed by the main collection.

Puzzles and Games

A variety of jigsaw puzzles and games are available at a charge of $1.00. The issue period for puzzles is 4 weeks and 2 weeks for games.

Videos

An assortment of both informative and entertainment videos, divided into a free and a pay collection. The issue period is for 2 weeks at a charge of $2.50 per video.

Young Adult

A collection specifically designed to appeal to the ‘teens’ with a vast range of new and popular titles available.
