Library Week
16 - 22 August
Library Week is a nation-wide initiative taking place over a week of events and celebrations. This year LIANA is encouraging the public to get involved in Library Week by exploring the surprises in the local library.
Invercargill City Libraries are excitied to be involved and are promoting an Amnesty for all overdue books that are still floating around. This will be carried out for the duration of Library Week.

The Childrens Services department are taking part in New Zealands Largest Story Time on Wednesday 18 August at 10.30am. The story we will be reading this year is Mr Muggs The Library Cat by New Zealand author Dave Gunson. All are welcome to come along and join in with that.
We are also asking our wonderful patrons to write about their favourite books so we can make an Invercargill Public Library Top 100.
There are also writing competitions, graphic novel compeitions and a video compeition that gives the patrons an opportunity to exhibit what is really great about their library.
So come into the Invercargill City Libraries and find out something that may suprise you.
There is always something happening at the library! From book groups to crazy craft sessions in the childrens department. Keep updated on our Events page for up and coming events that might be just what you are looking for.
