
CONNECTING YOUR LIBRARY TO THE WORLD
If you have Internet access at home, you will be able to search the Library’s catalogue and use the other functions as listed above. You can login as a guest to search the catalogue, but if you want to use the patron functions, you will need a password. Please contact the Library to activate a password.

How to access Geoweb
Read all of the following instructions and then click on the icon.
Click on the Login to GeoWeb icon.
If you have a password, enter your library card number and password in the boxes provided and click on Continue. If you don’t have a password, click on the Guest Login “Login to GeoWeb” icon.
Remember to add GeoWeb to your favourites.
How to search the catalogue
Use the buttons within GeoWeb to navigate (go forward or back) - DON’T USE YOUR BROWSER BUTTONS if you want to keep a history of your searches.
To search the catalogue, click on either Keyword Searching or Browse Searching. Use a keyword search if you don’t know the exact title, author or subject. Use browse searching if you do know the title, author or subject.
Use the Advanced button under Search Controls if you want to search through more than one index at once, eg; if you want to search author and subject.
To limit your search by a date range, language or material type click on the Limits icon under Search Controls.
The History button under Search Controls gives you a list of searches you have used during your current session. You can click on a search to repeat it.
How to use the patron functions
Click on the
Patron Functions button. Type in your library card number and password in the
boxes provided. Click on View Patron Record.
From here you can view what you have checked out by clicking on the Item List button. To renew items, click on the Renew Items button within your item list. Either click on Renew All Items, or to renew selected items, click on the check box below the Renew? column, and then click on the Renew Selected Items button. Please note: items can only be renewed once for a two week period.
To cancel holds, click on the Holds List button. Either click on Cancel All Holds, or to cancel selected holds, click on the check box below the Cancel? column, and then click on the Cancel Selected Holds button.
To place holds, use keyword or browse searching to locate the item you wish to hold. Click on the title, then on the Full Record button. Click on Hold Title under Search Controls. Type in your library card number and password in the boxes provided and click on Validate Patron Privileges. Click on the Commit Hold button. Please note: holds cost 50 cents each, payable upon collection of the item. Library staff will contact you when the item is ready to be collected. We will hold the item for you for one week.
You can also send an interloan request or suggest an item for us to buy by clicking on ILL/Purch. Request button. Sending a message to staff is now working. Sorry, but if you sent a message during February, March or April, we won't have received it. We would love to hear from you again now that it's working properly!
To change your password click on the Change Password button and follow the instructions.
Click on the icon to login to GeoWeb.
