Homework Hints
- Snack on 'brainfood' - vegetable sticks, fruit, dried fruit, nuts, crackers and cheese drink lots of water. Try studying to slow-beat or classical music. Do some stretches and breathe in fully a few times - these are good stress relievers. Set yourself a time limit, then reward yourself with TV, phoning friends, and games.

Research - What information do you need?

- Find the information.
- Make notes and write down reference details.
Plan/Sort
- Read and survey for useful pages. Mark pages with a post-it note.
- Skim to pick out relevant headings, words, summaries.
- Make notes. When quoting directly, put the quote in quotation marks " "
- Note down your sources for references (author, title, page number, publication date, publisher's name, place of publication, magazine number, volume and date if it's an article in a magazine).
- Arrange your information logically.
- Plan sections/paragraphs/illustrations.
Draft
- Draft the main body first. Make sure that your writing is clear, concise, courteous and complete.
- Keep in mind length and expression.
- Next draft the introduction & conclusion.
- Finally, write out your references.
Edit - Proofread:
- is your assignment written in the correct format?
- does it make sense?
- check for tone, clarity, completeness.
- does the text flow well?
- is it about the right length?
- check your grammar and spelling.
- are all your references correct?
