Scandinavian noir in the spotlight again
With the upcoming release of the English-language film version of The girl with the dragon tattoo, interest in the Stieg Larsson Millennium trilogy books has rekindled. The massive success of Larsson's books over the past four years has sparked a worldwide surge in the popularity of "Scandinavian noir", and has given English-language readers access to a huge range of previously unheard-of authors from countries such as Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

The Collaborator by Maragret Leroy
Vivienne lives on Guernsey island with her two daughters and her mother-in-law who has dementia during the World War 2. She makes the decision to stay on the island instead of fleeing to London like many locals have. She has made the decision to stay telling herself everything will be OK.... then the Germans came.
Curfews, food shortages and the impending winter are the least of Vivienne's worries after she starts to have feelings for an officer living next door. Vivienne must decide to either give into her feelings or do the "right thing" and shun his kindness.
