Do you enjoy listening to your books instead of reading them? Now, as well as our physical audiobook collection, you have access to free downloadable eAudiobooks through your library. These are perfect not only for visually impaired people, but anyone who enjoys listening to a great story while on the go: in the car, doing the housework, exercising, or even if you're laid up in bed and don't feel like reading.
Visit the South Island Downloadable Zone (powered by OverDrive) to download eAudiobooks onto your computer and transfer them to a wide variety of portable listening devices, such as MP3 players and iPods, or download MP3 titles directly to your mobile device. Please visit the Device Resource Centre for a full list of compatible devices. Many of these titles can also be burned to CD and enjoyed on your home stereo or car stereo.
