Read Listen Watch » Readers' corner
A page dedicated to all you avid readers out there. From time to time, we will include topical content about what we're reading, finding interesting, or recommending (and maybe, sometimes, panning). Not necessarily where you will find all the brand new stuff (head over to our New titles pages for that), but hopefully where you will find interesting and thought-provoking tidbits about books and reading.
All of our War fiction (brown spot) is now interfiled by author with the red spots in the Suspense/adventure section. They still have brown spots on, so you can identify them amongst the red spots.
Some of your favourite War authors also write books in the Suspense/adventure genre, so you will now find them all together on the shelf. There are also some War books kept in Storage; please ask at the desk for these titles. We have also produced a list of suggestions for further reading if you love War fiction; see below or please ask at the Help Desk for a printed copy.
We are very keen to buy some new War books, so please let us know using our suggest a purchase form if you have any recommended authors or titles.

The 2012 Academy Awards for film have been announced. This year a large number of nominated films were stories that began their lives as books. So many, in fact, that we thought we would create a virtual bookshelf of some of these titles so you can read the books as well as watch the films. Scroll down to see the bookshelf and click through to the catalogue to place holds.
Do any of these titles work better as films, or is the book always going to be better? Everyone is bound to have their own opinion, but at least now you can judge for yourself about the pick of this year's crop of films.
