If you wish to borrow an item that is not in our collection, we can borrow it from another library on your behalf. In library-speak, we call that an inter-library loan, or interloan. This is a co-operative scheme where libraries throughout New Zealand and Australia lend items to each other.
The libraries involved in the scheme must cover their costs, so there will always be a charge, based on actual costs, to you as the borrower. When you request an interloan we can give you an indication of the cost involved so that you can decide whether or not you still wish to interloan the item.
Please phone the library on (03) 211 1444 if you have any questions about the service, or you can complete our Interloan request form. For more information about Interloans please read the Interloans FAQ page.
