 What is an interloan?

Interloans are items that we get from other libraries on your behalf.

 Why interloan?
  • We do not have a copy of the item in our collection.
  • We do not have a copy of an item that is in a series.
  • It may be too specialised for our collection.

 Who can interloan?

Anyone who has a current Invercargill City Libraries membership card.

 How much do interloans cost?
  • $5.00 for an item from a public library.
  • $14.00 for an item from a polytechnic, special or university library.
  • $20.00 for an urgent request.
  • $25.00 starting price for a trans-Tasman interloan.

 How long can I have interloans for?

Usually for four weeks - depending on the lending library's policy.

 Can interloans be renewed?

Yes, most can be renewed for another four weeks - depending on the lending library's policy. Call our Interloans Librarian to check on (03) 211 1771.

 Where do I collect and return interloans?

Collect and return interloans from Information Services on the first floor of the Library (accessible from Level 4 of the Leven Street car park, or at the top of the escalators).
