Friday 27 January marked the conclusion to the 2011 - 2012 Pursue 100 reading competition with a visit from author Tania Roxborogh who held a workshop for teens who had taken part in the competition.

At the end of the day we held our prize giving. Tania assisted library staff in handing out numerous prizes including an apple iPad.

Congratulations to to our three major winners:

Courtney McCrostie who won an iPod Nano for the Gamma prize draw,

Hannah Brown who won an iPod Touch for the Beta prize draw and

Samantha Froude, winner of the alpha prize draw and now the proud owner of a new apple iPad.

This year we also gave out prizes for the most reviews and Harriet Brankin picked up this prize after reviewing what can only be described as an avalanche of books.

Reviews were judged on quality as well as quantity this year with a prize being given for the best review. After much debate by our panel of judges, Morgan Henderson's review of Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children won the best review prize. Check out her review and some of the others sent in by participants on this teen blog.

Kirsty clears up the pizza box after the prize givingEveryone else walked away after having their fill of pizza with their share of a selection of books, DVDs, CDs and Flashdrives.

Anyone who hasn't yet picked up a prize can still collect a book or two by coming into the adult's library before the 10th of February.

If you missed the competition this year, don't worry we plan to run the whole thing again next year, so look out for the the Pursue 100 again around the end of November 2012.
