Department 19 written by Will Hill is a novel about a young teenage boy named Jamie Carpenter. After Jamie's mother is kidnapped by the second oldest vampire in the world, Alexsandru Rusmanov, he is unwillingly introduced to a top secret government sector called department 19. Alone and bewildered in his new environment, Jamie learns of his family's past, meets creatures of legend, and is provided with the tools to find his mother and rescue her from the jaws of Darkness. Shortly into the time that he is there, department 19 becomes a place that Jamie would call home. Through grit and determination, Jamie sets out to fight the vampires holding his mother captive and embarks on both a physical and mental journey that changes Jamie from a boy who skips school and avoids bullies to a vampire hunter.

This book review is on a book called Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill. It's a fantasy novel about a 28 year old named Merit who is attacked by a vampire as she walked alone at night. Another vampire, one of the house masters named Ethan Sullivan, saves her life. She is then turned into a vampire and her whole life is turned upside down.

The main Character of this book is a half witch half vampire girl named Anastasija Parker. She has one ice blue eye and a deep brown one. She thought she was a witch and had never known her dad until the night of her sixteenth birthday.
